What Arridex is

Arridex is an African industrial technology holding company, previously known as RusselSmith Group, built on more than twenty-one years of industrial delivery. Arridex serves clients across oil and gas, maritime, manufacturing, defence, aerospace, and construction. The company operates as a branded house: a single parent brand with several subsidiaries beneath it (Arridex Asset Integrity, Arridex Advanced Manufacturing, etc.), rather than a collection of unrelated companies sharing only ownership.

The Omnifactory

The Omnifactory is West Africa's first multi-technology industrial additive manufacturing facility, producing on-demand industrial components, spare parts, and improved part designs for critical industries. It is one of the clearest physical expressions of what Arridex builds, and it is the facility that ADAM OS exists to run.

Where you sit: Arridex Technologies

Arridex Technologies is the team you work within. It is focused on enterprise software platforms and, separately, physical product development. The two are organisationally distinct, and it is worth being precise about this early, since the terminology has shifted recently.

Correct structure

There are two units in Arridex Technologies: IT Strategy & Architecture (commonly referred to internally as Digital Solutions, or IT Services) and Product Development. Product Development itself splits into Software and Hardware. Your remit sits within Product Development > Software. IT Strategy & Architecture is a distinct, supporting function, not the umbrella your products sit under.

The four platforms this primer covers, Velidon, ADAM OS, EDGE ERP, and POP, all sit under Product Development > Software. IT Strategy & Architecture supports these efforts (for example, on infrastructure and security work) but does not own the products themselves. Hardware, covering physical and autonomous systems work, is a separate team and is out of scope for your role. However, the hardware team might call on you to support certain software development efforts that require general UI/UX work, frontend development, and backend development expertise.

The sectors Arridex serves

Understanding these sectors matters because Velidon, the product closest to your day-to-day work, is not an oil-and-gas-only tool. The same underlying problem, keeping large physical assets safe and compliant over their working life, shows up across several industries Arridex serves.

Oil & Gas

Upstream and midstream assets

Platforms, floating production vessels, pipelines, and tank farms. The most mature market for asset integrity work, and where Velidon's feature set is most developed.

Maritime

Vessels and marine structures

Hull integrity, marine outfitting, and structural inspection follow similar logic to onshore and offshore assets, with maritime-specific standards.

Defence

Platforms and structural assets

Defence clients require the same class of structural and material inspection, typically under stricter access and reporting controls.

Aerospace

Structural and material integrity

An emerging area of relevance for the same inspection disciplines, at tighter tolerances.

Manufacturing

The Omnifactory and ADAM OS

A different problem entirely: not inspecting existing assets, but producing new industrial parts on demand, to keep operations running in multiple industries.

Construction

A confirmed Arridex subsidiary, outside the scope of the software portfolio this primer covers.

What this means for you

Two genuinely different industrial worlds sit inside your remit. The first is asset integrity, the world of inspecting existing physical assets so operators know what state they are in. The second is additive manufacturing, the world of producing new physical parts on demand from digital files. Velidon serves the first. ADAM OS serves the second. EDGE and POP are not domain-specific, they run internal operations within Arridex. The next few pages take each of these in turn, starting with asset integrity.
